HRCE 2024 Summer School will be hosted at Bedford Forsyth Education Centre's Bedford campus, Bedford Place Mall, suite 0070, Bedford Highway, Bedford, N.S. from Tuesday, July 2, 2024 to Monday, July 29, 2024.

There will be both Credit Recovery as well as Full Course options:

• Credit Recovery: To be eligible to complete course outcomes, a students must have received a mark between 40% to 49%. Successful students will receive a mark of 50%. 
• Full Course: To be eligible, a student must have taken the course this year. A full course is 20 days and the mark received in summer school will replace the students existing mark. 
• Grade 9 Math: Full course or Refresher.

If a student was unsuccessful in Grade 9 math, they can take a full 20-day course and replace their existing mark.

Or if a student was successful in Grade 9 math but would like a refresher in preparation for grade 10 math, they have the option of taking one of two two-week refreshers.

• Refresher #1: Powers, Exponents, Rational Numbers and Square Roots (July 2-15)
• Refresher #2: Polynomials and Linear Relations (July 16-29)
• Both refreshers: full course (July 2-29)

Courses Offered:

• English 10/11/12: Credit Recovery only
• Mathematics 9: Full Course or Refresher
• Mathematics 10/11/12: Credit Recovery or Full Course
• Math at Work 10/11/12: Credit Recovery or Full Course
• Pre Cal 11/12: Credit Recovery or Full Course

Note:  For all credit recovery math courses – students will be contacted by the teacher before the start of classes, to determine if they will be recovering their credit during the first two weeks of July or the following two weeks of July.

Cost:

• Full Course (20 days): $325
• Credit Recovery (10 days): $200
• Math 9 Refresher (10 days): $162.50

Payment by credit card can be done by phone by calling 902-464-2000 ext. 4404. Cash or debit card payments must be done in person on June 27 and June 28 between the hours of 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, 33 Spectacle Lake Drive, Dartmouth.
