Parents/guardians may seek placement for their child in a school outside of the region in which they reside under the guidelines of the Student Registration Policy.
Parent must seek written release from their Regional Centre for Education and forward to Halifax Regional Centre for Education – secondary school requests should be sent to Kelly Eaglestone keaglestone@hrce.ca and elementary school requests should be sent to Alicia Baldasso abaldasso@hrce.ca.
If the request is approved, parents/guardians will be provided an application package for Out-of-Region.
Out-of-Region requests for the next school year will be processed by the last school day of the school year.
If a request has been approved, re-application is not required in subsequent years.
Parents/guardians requesting a transfer are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from school.
