As part of an ongoing study about children’s developmental health, school boards across Canada are collecting anonymized data on primary students. This research is being done to better understand and measure children’s developmental health as they enter school. The study will look at the developmental information collected and identify what might affect a children’s developmental health between birth and five years of age.

The Offord Centre for Child Studies at McMaster University, the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and each school board in the province are working together on this project. This year, primary classes in the HRCE and throughout the province will be involved in the study. Participation is voluntary. Parents who do not wish to be included in the study can contact their child's school.
