International Baccalaureate
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is a pre-university liberal arts program whose aim is to develop students who are: “knowledgeable, thinkers, inquirers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-taking, balanced, and reflective”(The IB Learner Profile). Student-centered teaching and learning are at the core of all IB courses which help students to develop their social, communication, research, self-management and thinking skills.
The Diploma Program (DP) is for students in grades 11 and 12, with pre-IB courses offered in Grade 10. A full IB diploma program is made up of six subject groups and the DP core. The DP core consists of Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and Extended Essay (EE). Students may only wish to enroll in select courses and earn an IB Certificate in those courses instead of the full diploma. External IB exams are written by students in both the Diploma and Certificate Programs.
